OUR DOCTORS

Our veterinary staff boasts a combined experience of over 30 years in emergency medicine.  All of our doctors have worked the majority of their careers in the greater San Fernando Valley area.

GEOFF CHAPMAN, DVM – MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Chapman grew up in suburban New York before moving south to go to college in 1989.  He received his veterinary degree from the University of Florida in 1999 and promptly relocated to Southern California to complete a one-year internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego, where he cultivated an interest in emergency medicine.  Following completion of that program, he moved to Los Angeles to begin what would become a four-year stint at AECC.  He has since worked at a number of hospitals across LA before being invited back as AECC’s Medical Director in 2009.

Dr. Chapman currently resides in West Hollywood with his dog, Six.  While not working, he enjoys snowboarding and other outdoor activities as well as playing guitar.

DEBORAH GUINN, DVM

Dr. Guinn channeled her childhood aspirations of becoming a veterinarian into a career as a human radiology technician.  After a few years in that field, she elected to pursue a veterinary degree and graduated from Colorado State University in 2000.  She completed a one-year internship at VCA West Los Angeles and in the following years developed a preference for working exclusively in emergency.  She spent some time with AECC in the early 2000s and is now the newest member of our veterinary staff, starting in the summer of 2010.

Dr. Guinn has two dogs, Kona and Baxter.  They love hiking, camping, and swimming at the lake and beach.  She enjoys most sports and physical activity, including spinning and kickboxing, but her favorite remains waterskiing.
